I took this photo in the Train Shed, behind the Mall of St. Louis Union Station, while on a business trip in Missouri. It shows FRISC Steam Locomotive Number 1522. It shows 4-8-2, Mountain Type, FRISCO Steam Locomotive Number 1522. The train shed was no longer used for regularly scheduled passenger trains, but as a museum with several Locomotives, Cabooses and Freight Cars on display. The station, itself had been converted into a shopping mall with stores, restaurants and tourist attractions. Amtrak then operated from a makeshift station on the mainline which passed behind the station. Back in December 1993, when I took my Photos, AMTRAK operated out of a House Trailer, but when I looked up Union Station using Google Earth, I saw that they have a more formal Building and an elevated passenger loading platform. Other than the Union Station (itself), I hardly recognize the area; it has changes so much. Disclaimer: I took this photo on December 22, 1993 with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 SLR us
